project # 6 ''student profile''
Lamar is a very good student. He is great at writing in all ways, he is good at history, and he is strong in all his academic classes. Lamar has about an 82 average and has a very good work ethic. Lamar does all of his homework, and tries the best on every assignment. Lamar is very nice and cool, and he is also great at athletics, specifically basketball and tennis. This year at FMHS he averaged 15 points and grabbed 8 rebounds a game, for the junior varsity basketball team. He won the most improved award on his team. Hopefully next year he can get his scoring and rebounds up to 20 points a game and 10 rebounds. He knows he has the talent to do that.
Many days afterschool Lamar goes to the youth program at
Central Baptist Church which is the church he attends. He and his church helps
out with many things. For example, they do can drives to help homeless people
for thanksgiving, bake sales to raise money for college scholarships, yard
sales, clean the sanctuary, nursery, hold movie nights, game nights, help serve
food to the homeless and take many trips to places. This is a program he's in,
and proud to be in. Lamar also plays for the CBC church basketball team which
just recently won a tournament in Brooklyn age 16 and under.
Now as a sophmore many things have changed. Lamar has improved as a student. He does not procrastinate as much and that really benefits him because he is not as stressed out and does not have to rush everything. The way he looks at his education has improved because now he realizes how important doing well in school is for his future. He really wants to play sports at a good college program so it is important to get good grades. His grade point average has improved this year compared to last year, and next year he wants to improve it even more. Lamar also loves sports. He is getting better in basketball and really wants to become a very good player. He will work hard this summer
